Deloitte-"An unpleasant surprise "

Entering the fourth year of your college brings a set of mixed emotions to your mind, it includes exhilaration, excitement and disquiet. The year starts with young minds contemplating and comparing the different companies that they want to join. Everybody has a kind of notion of a dream company which will be the best option for them to kick start their career. Some make it and fullfil their pledge and there are some who dont.
In august this year Deloitte came to my college, I had heard and read alot about deloitte a month back when i came to know that it was coming for campus hiring. The pre placement talk was wonderful with the HR explaining to us what to expect of deloitte and the fields in which deloitte was working. I was very impressed and I really wanted to make it to deloitte.
First there was an Aptitude round which i cleared , next day it was service line interview, technical interview and HR interview. In sevice line interview 42 of us were divided into 7 groups and given a problem statement to prepare a presentation on, our group had the topic "Use of IT for enhancement of Profit margins of a firm". After this round 15 out of the 42 initial were left, and then came the technical and HR round. My technical interview went well but apparently everbody was doing well in that round, seeing their happy faces gave me a pang of nervousness as deloitte had specified that only 6 would make it. Then came the HR round, yes!!! this was the round i had been waiting for i thought that i'd do very well. But the end result was pretty much different, the HR made me nervous with her questions and the answers that i gave did not impress her.
So in the end, after 7 hours of gruelling interview and service round sessions when the result was announced my name wasnt there. I was very dissapointed as it was my first interview, but i also made a promise to my self that i would go to a much better company, with a better salary package. In the end i would just say Shit happens but how u take it, and what you learn from it matters the most.

YAMAHA FAZER-"TOURING SPIRIT"

As the end of my third year in college set in I like the rest wanted a bike.Initially I wanted a pulsar 220, that was before I saw the
Fazer.
It was a complete beauty more beautiful than anything I have ever seen before.I set my mind on getting a Fazer, small glitches like less power or the one head light mechanism could not deter me.Its sports bike look mesmerized me to unimaginable limits.
Its wide body and the wide rear tire easily makes it the most comfortable and easily maneuverable bike to ride. Its been 5 months since i got my bike, and it still doesn't stop surprising me every time I ride it.Just looking at it every morning lights up my day, cant stand dirt on it and keep wiping it off, love it so much. Moreover when you stop at a traffic signal everybody looks at it with admiration, that gives a feeling of immense satisfaction. And girls simply adore it...
Hats off to Yamaha for creating such a bike...

INTERNS-aptitude,gd,pi

Recently we had our college Tech Fest SOLUTIONS 2010 and i was asked to conduct an event INTERNS. It was basically a GD,pi,aptitude event.I was chosen as had won a Gd before in my college.
Now we needed registrations for the fest, then the time of campaigning started.Me and my batch mates and the juniors scouted almost every college in Pune for participants.
And in the end about 250 registrations were managed, out of which 98 was for interns. I was exhilarated.
A day before the event that is on 10th march i got the paper for the aptitude round it was prepared by the Career launcher faculty.Had 20 questions in all and the time allotted was 40 minutes.About 24 people cleared the cut-off.On 12th we had the GDs which were great, they were in a way perfect group discussions sans the general ambiguities. As the GD was going on me and other juniors helping me were trying our best to get all the logistics straight. There was a little bit of confusion as the people who had not cleared the cut-off wanted their participation certificates. Nine people got selected from the 24 that appeared for the GD.Then there were 3 rounds of group PI. In the last discussion I also participated as we were short of one person the topic was 'FRIENDS AND BOOKS SHOULD BE FEW AND GOOD'. Initially the group was divided into people talking about books and others who were interested in friends. But towards the end with the help of examples and justifications the group summarized the discussion.
The judge wanted to take me also for the Pi but I as an organizer could not do so.
But in the end the satisfaction of conducting an intellectual event flawlessly kept me smiling through out the day.

Zeitgeist- Spirit of the Age

zeitgeist is a phenomena,an uprising and a new perspective that has completely changed the way i look at things, it was a kind of awakening from a deep slumber for me. it changed the whole perspective that i had about the things around me.

i was going through the data shared on LAN and came across this german word that turned my world upside down.It was a documentary on how we have been sucked into simulated explanations of the different social, cultural and economic phenomenas around us.Since the time the humans have had a socially stable life the things that have been told to us by the religion, our leaders and the makers of the modern world is a complete lie. The explanations for these processes which have been inherited by us from tour ancestors is nothing but a manipulative strategy to keep us in the dark.

the documentary starts with a kind of hypnosis, this hypnosis is the hypnosis of awareness and not of deception. It explained the cultural, intellectual and spiritual morals of a country like USA, where almost each of dreams of working few years down the line.it has been clearly shown how the whole human race has been constantly lied to at an extent which is unimaginable.
the topics covered in this docudrama are:

1.)RELIGION:This is the part that swept me off my feet. the religion has always been subject towards which people are positively biased due to a staunch belief in god synonym of which is a word called FAITH,but this very word has been used as an instrument of deception.
we all know the usual history of jesus christ that is born of a vigin on 25th december star in the east, 12 disciples , performed miracles, dead for 3 days and then resurrected but do we have a substantiated proof that this actually happened?

NO this story is the one that has been used for the egyptian god of sun Horus, Mithra, Attis in Greece and more gods in other civilizations. Here the story is actually about the sun and is completely astrological.

the star in the EAST is Sirius which on december 24th aligns with the 3 brightest stars in the orions belt. And the three stars and the Sirius point to the point of the sunrise. During the winters day grow shorter and nights longer, it is then that the sun moves from 1st december to 24th december southwards, for three days the sun remains stagnant and on 25th moves one degree north.
This depicts how the story of god is purely astrological and based on the birth of the sun.

2.) WTC BOMBING:
Now the story here was that on the morning of the 9/11 the pentagon and the WTC had been attacked by the hijacked planes?....
The towers 1,2, 7 went down as soon as the planes hit them but what baffles me the most is how the towers fell down so rapidly when the part struck was way higher than the mid of the towers?

Ann what happened to the plane that was slatted to hit the pentagon, skimmed a few lilies in the pentagon garden i suppose.

The story here was that when the rescue workers were saving people they found traces of metal oxides that are used in the tunnel bursting operation, along with this there were visible slanted cuts on the foundation towers. Moreover the NORAD(North American Aerospace Command) which was made to shoot down potential aerial threat could do nothing?
They could not stop the attack as on the same day they were engaged in a high profile military exercise.

NORAD having an efficiency of 100% failed 4 times that day.......

out of the whole zeitgeist1 documentry these parts had the most profound effect on me...

INNOCENT HILARITY

Giggles, chuckle , laughter and some more laughter this is how I would describe my experience of reading two states. This is one book which gets u hooked.Along wid the fact that Chetan Bhagat is the only Indian writer worth reading, his sense of humour is eminently outstanding, and his uncanny ability to express it in simple words is great. This book is filled with moments which can make anybody laugh till their tummies hurt. What really makes this book great is the way we indians can connect to it, not only this but the other books that have been written by Chetan Bhagat.

Its a story of how a Punjabi boy and a South Indian girl get married. Which has been elucidated with the indespensible charaterstics of the two communities.Like the other books here also the story has been narrated by the main protagonist. It is the whole process of convincing the parents for the marriage by two love struck people(ie Krish and Ananaya). And in the end as luck would have it the parents are convinced. But what is the main crux of the book is the whole crusade that the protagonist has to undertake to be successful.

This gripping book was hard to keep down, once I had started. This is a must read for everybody who has a few hours to spare for a genuinely good book.

"NOT A SINGLE DULL PAGE"
is what I would conclude my review about the book with...
